Event Overview
A note to the membership:
DEPS was very proud to host the first-ever, Limited Distribution virtual conference. In addition to being able to support CUI sessions via Microsoft, we were pleased to introduce a new virtual conference experience platform, Pathable, to our members. All of our Open/ Distribution A activities took place here, specifically our virtual exhibition hall.
All presentations (Distribution A to Limited Distribution D) were exclusively supported via a Microsoft platform.
Please feel free to reach out to office@deps.org with any additional questions regarding the symposium.

Substantial program changes were made to the DE Systems Symposium in 2018. These changes were a reaction to the increasing
opportunities to transition Directed Energy Weapon concepts. The opening morning plenary session was replaced by a full
day plenary of system level talks. Following the plenary were two days of presentations
and posters that focus on system level contributions. DEPS encourages the use of these presentation time slots
to further detail the systems discussed at the plenary.
System focus areas for technical breakout sessions included:
- Warfighter Operated Systems
- Technology Demonstrator Systems
- Air Defense
- Industrial Base
- Systems Level Laser Source Power Scaling
- Operational Employment
- Operational Requirements and Mission Level Analysis
- Auxiliary Support Systems
This new format was designed to inform interested parties about the general state of this emerging militarily relevant
technology. It also provides our research and development scientists and engineers with a comprehensive view of current
technology needs.
