High Power Microwave Conference
3-6 April 2006 Adelphi, Maryland

Progress in the development and application of high power microwave (HPM) technologies for directed energy missions was explored in this conference, specifically devoted to HPM. This conference was classified SECRET with participation limited to U.S. and U.K. attendees with appropriate security clearances. A program agenda is available here in PDF format.

This DEPS and Army Research Lab co-sponsored meeting included special sessions on:

  • Sources and Source Technologies Effects
  • Bio-effects
  • IEDs
  • Engines/Vehicles
  • Tools and Models
  • Hardening
  • Systems and Components

In addition, four short courses were be offered on Monday, 3 April prior to the start of the HPM Conference. Course details are available here.

The HPM Conference was immediately followed on 7 April by the DETEC Industry Day for HPM Wideband Threat Source (WBTS) and HPM Narrowband Threat Source(NBTS). This half-day classified (SECRET) briefing included an overview of HPM WBTS and HPM NBTS capability shortfalls being pursued by DETEC.
