DIRECTED ENERGY PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY

Directed Energy Education Workshop 2004
21 October 2004 Rockville, Maryland

Education is vital to the Directed Energy community. Fostering the professional growth of current workers in the field and increasing the number of young, new members in the community are important DEPS educational goals. This was the fourth Workshop in a series of DE Education Workshops to advance these goals. The workshops consider current and future Directed Energy education programs around the country.

The scope of this workshop included:

  • Programs from K-12 through graduate school and technical vocational training
  • Professional continuing education
  • Student motivators (scholarships, fellowships, recognitions)
  • Summer internship programs
  • Training for teachers and other school personnel
  • Curriculum development

The fourth Workshop was held on 21 October 2004 and was co-located with the Seventh Annual Directed Energy Symposium, held in Rockville, Maryland on 18 - 21 October 2004.
