Education is vital to the Directed Energy community. Fostering the professional growth of
current workers in the field and increasing the number of young, new members in the community are
important DEPS educational goals. This was the fourth Workshop in a series of DE
Education Workshops
to advance these goals. The workshops consider current and future Directed Energy education programs
around the country.
The scope of this workshop included:
- Programs from K-12 through graduate school and technical vocational training
- Professional continuing education
- Student motivators (scholarships, fellowships, recognitions)
- Summer internship programs
- Training for teachers and other school personnel
- Curriculum development
The fourth Workshop was held on 21 October 2004 and was co-located with
the Seventh Annual Directed Energy Symposium,
held in Rockville, Maryland on 18 - 21 October 2004.
