Session Description: This special presentation provides an overview of the government contracting process for contractor technical personnel, as well as contractor business/contracting personnel. It provides an orientation to those new to government contracting or not in the contracting community. Attendees will be given the basic terminology, processes, and other documentation for government contracting as well as specifics for the High Energy Laser Joint Technology Office contracting requirements. Intended Audience: This is a general overview only and not meant to be a full course offering. The information is intended to enhance your general knowledge of contracting as well to assist you participating in HEL-JTO announcements. No knowledge of contracting is required. Recommended for program managers, principal investigators, technical managers, and contracting/business individuals.

Speaker Biography: Ms. Buix is currently a Contracting Officer at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Directed Energy Directorate, Kirtland AFB, NM. Ms. Buix received an MBA from Webster University in 2006. She has supported HEL-JTO since 2003. She previously worked for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) throughout the world.
