Call for Papers

*DEPS will be strictly following Washington DC's COVID-19 requirements for the duration of this event. Please review the COVID-19 Protocol (linked on the menu on the left) and contact office@deps.org with any questions.

We will be hosting an early onsite check-in Sunday 24 October from 1500-1800 ET. This will allow those of you who are not fully vaccinated with travel plans over the weekend to test as early as Thursday 21 October.

There will be NO onsite registrations or onsite presentation uploads for this event. Please plan and prepare accordingly.

Due to current meeting attendance limitations set forth by OSD, there will not be any classified sessions at this event. All presentations will be briefed at a CUI level.

Contributions are being solicited for papers and presentations that support a system level view of Directed Energy Weapons (DEW). Papers and presentations that provide a mission level perspective of DEW, helping to provide context to the warfighters, are sought as well. Papers and presentations from a DEW sub-system, or technology perspective which are focused on transition to operational capability will also be considered. Topics of interest include but are not limited to:

  • Counter-Unmanned Aerial System Capabilities
Both High Power Microwave and High Energy Laser Weapons Systems provide potential solutions to counter this increasing threat. This topic area will be co-chaired by members of both technology area and seeks papers and presentations that describe system level approaches to this threat in terms both the warfighter and Directed Energy Professional can appreciate.

  • HEL Systems & Needs
  • HEL Effects
  • HPM/HPRF Systems & Needs
  • HPM/HPRF Effects
