On 2 August 2005 from 0800 to 1200, the Directed Energy Test and Evaluation Capability (DETEC) hosted an Industry Day in coordination with the Fourth Directed Energy Test & Evaluation Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Albuquerque Marriott Pyramid Hotel. This half-day briefing included an overview of the High Energy Laser (HEL) and High Power Microwave (HPM) capability shortfalls being pursued by DETEC. This event also served as an Industry Day for the HPM Propagation Environment Measurement (PEM) and HPM Sensor Suite (SS) capabilities. The Directed Energy Test and Evaluation Capability is a Central Test and Evaluation Investment Program (CTEIP) funded project to address joint DE T&E infrastructure needs and implement solutions within the Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB). DETEC addresses capability development for the 12 highest ranked shortfalls identified in the CTEIP-funded DETEC Tri-Service Study completed in August 2004. DETEC is executed for CTEIP by the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, and Instrumentation (PEO STRI). PEO STRI has contracted with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to be the LSI for the DETEC program. The DETEC LSI manages development, acquisition, integration, and testing of capabilities to resolve the twelve DETEC shortfalls. The LSI will acquire the capability solutions from the best of industry, Government and academia.
